- EARLY SULLIVAN CITIZEN PASSES
Mrs. August Bluhm Was Daughter of Pioneer and Lifelong Church Member
In the passing of Marie Pamprene, widow of the late August Bluhm, on Thursday, the fourth Concession of Sullivan lost one of its oldest and most highly respected residents. The late Mrs. Bluhm was born in Waterloo County. October 2nd, 1858, and came to this district at the age of five years, Her father, the late Christian Pamprene, was one of the earliest pioneers of this district. She was a life long member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Sullivan, of which her father was one of the founders. The deceased was married October 24th, 1878 There are left to mourn her loss eight children, namely, Mrs. J. P. Halliday, Oregon City, Dr. Rudolph, Sask, Elsie, at Owen Sound. Dorothy of Smith's Fall, Chris, Fred, Myrtle at home, Mrs. W. R. Prouse, Hamilton; four sisters, Mrs. F. Laflame, West Branch, Mich., Mrs. P. Kamport, Detroit, Mrs. J. McMillan, Toronto, Mrs. J. Bucher. Elmwood; one brother, John, of West Branch, 13 grandchildren, three great grand- children. Two daughters predeceased her. Mrs. N. Tribble and Mrs. D. Hiscott.
The funeral was held on Saturday from the Lutheran Church Sullivan, in charge of Rev. A. J. Datars, with interment following in the Lutheran cemetery. The pall- bearers were Messrs. Norman Ewen, Mel. McEwen, Bill Batterman, James Riddell, Henry Knapp and Albert Owens. The honorary pallbearers were Messrs. Fred Kamfort, Norman Tribble. Nelson Tribble, James Tribble, William Irwin and William Agnew.
