Notes - SCHALLER, Helen Isobel With broken hearts and tremendous sorrow, we announce the sudden passing of Helen Isobel Schaller, age 58, on Wednesday, April 17, 2019. Helen was a giving, selfless, honest, and loving woman. She was an anchor, mentor, and supportive coach to all; always ready to share her wisdom and guide others back on track. She loved gardening, quilting, and travelling to all the wonders of the world. She enjoyed spending time with the "Burlington Gang." Her interior design skills were so impressive that she earned the nickname "Hawk Eye Helen." Most of all, Helen loved cheering and supporting her children and grandchildren at sporting events, and hosting friends and family at Hurricane Haven. In addition to counselling her family and friends, Helen led marriage prep courses for 25 years. We will think of her every time we say one of her common phrases, "This too shall pass," and "For every door that closes, another one opens." Helen will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Fred Schaller, children Dawn Schaller, Erika Davidson (Greg), Krista Dalton (Jeff), and Ken Schaller (Alona Gapanovich), grandchildren Emma, Jacob, and Nathan Davidson, Kenyan, Sevrin, and Remmie Dalton, and Jaxon Schaller, her father Robert MacDonald, and her parents-in-law Max and Anna Schaller. Helen is also survived by her siblings Ken MacDonald (Donna), Carol Thorman, Barb Sabila (Doug), Joan Gillies (Bruce), Pat Thibault (Dan), Jim MacDonald, and Mary Guttin (Reg), and many nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by her mother Shirley MacDonald, brother Ross MacDonald, brother-in-law Frank Schaller, and her uncle Joe Ebenhoeh. Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation at Barthel Funeral Home (566 Queenston Road, Cambridge) on Tuesday, April 23rd from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Clement's Parish (745 Duke Street, Cambridge) on Wednesday, April 24th at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Parklawn Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Honey Harbour Parish, The Canadian Cancer Society, or The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
