  After suffering very much for the past three years, Mr. Richard H. Kinsman, one of Galt's most respected citizens, passed away on Friday evening last at 10 o'clock. Deceased was born in Cornwall, England, in the year 1835, and came to Canada along with his parents and other members of the family in the 1847, settling for a year in Darlington after which they moved to Galt. The first few years he was in Galt he worked along with his father at stone masoning, retiring from this business about thirty-six years ago when H.H. Date started the Edge Tool Works (now owned by James Warlock & Co.), where he secured a position as polisher with that firm which he held until sickness compelled him to give it up a little over a year ago..... Deceased was a very prominent member of the Galt Methodist Church and on Sunday and week day meetings was always found, when well, in his place. Deceased was born in Cornwall, England, in the year 1835 and came to Canada along with his parents and other members of the family, in 1847, settling for a year at Darlington, after which they moved to Galt. In 1856 he was married to Isabella Grant (a daughter of the late James Grant of Glenmorris) who survives him along with six children, three boys and three girls, Richard, James and Nicholas. Bella (Mrs. Keating), Minnie and Jessie, who all reside in town. Deceased was a very prominent member of the Galt Methodist Church and on Sunday and week day meetings was always found, when well, in his place. The Resolution of Condolence, which will be found in another column and the draping of his pew on Sunday, showed in what esteem he was held by the Methodist Church as a body. The funeral took place on Monday afternoon, from his late residence, Beverly street, to Mount View Cemetery and was attended by a large concourse of friends, fellow-workmen and relatives of the deceased. The services at the house and grave were conducted by Rev. J. G. Scott his pastor and were very solemn and impressive. The Weekly Reformer 22 sep 1893 pg 1
