    • GERALD GEORGE BAUER 1922 - 2009 Passed away peacefully at Sunnyside Home, Kitchener, on Thursday, March 19, 2009, at the age of 86 years. Beloved husband of nearly 60 years to Muriel (nee Moyer). Cherished father of the late, Karen McAllister and her husband Ross, Gayle Martin and her husband Doug, Philip Bauer and his wife Helga, and Laurie Venton and her husband Mark. Sadly missed by his siblings, Joan Brennan, Donald Bauer and his wife Janet, Ruth Sidney and her husband George, and Dorothy Hannah; 12 grandchildren and their spouses and three great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, Roy and Louise Bauer (nee Raines); sisters, Marguerite Boyes and Glenadine Koby and brother-in-law, Bill Hannah. Gerry was a member of the R.C.A.F. and served his country overseas in the Second World War. He also managed Bauer Skate of Kitchener for 25 years and was actively involved in ministry at First Baptist Church, Waterloo. Friends are invited to share their memories of Gerry with his family during a visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Monday, March 23, 2009, (today) from 6-9 p.m. The service to celebrate Gerry's life and faith will be held at First Baptist Church, 306 Erb Street West, Waterloo, on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 11 a.m. with reception to follow at the church. Interment at Memory Gardens, Breslau. Condolences for the family and donations to First Baptist Church Overseas Mission Fund may be arranged through the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445. In living memory of Gerry, a donation will be made to the Trees for Learning Program by the funeral home.

      Passed away peacefully at Sunnyside Long Term Care Centre, Kitchener, on Thursday, aged 86 years.

      Survived by his wife Muriel, of nearly 60 years, his son-in-law, Ross McAllister (late Karen), his daughter Gayle Martin (Doug), his son Philip (Helga), and his daughter, Laurie Venton (Mark). Also survived by his siblings, Joan Brennan, Donald Bauer (Janet), Ruth Sidney (George), and Dorothy Hannah, 12 grandchildren and their spouses and 3 great-grandchildren.

      Predeceased by his daughter Karen (Ross McAllister), his parents Roy and Louise Bauer (nee Raines), his sisters Marguerite Boyes and Glenadine Koby, and brother-in-law Bill Hannah.
