    • St. Agatha Priest Dies

      A former member of the teaching staff of St. Jerome's College, Kitchener, and latterly for some years pastor of St. Agatha's Church, St. Agatha. Rev. Wm. J. Kloepfer, 62, died Monday evening at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener. Father Kloepfer was ordained to the priesthood on April 10, 1909. Solemn funeral mass was held at St. Agatha's church on Thursday.

      Well known Priest Dies in Hospital

      Rev. William Kloepfer Served at St. Agatha

      Rev. William J. Kloepfer of the Congregation of the Resurrection, pastor of St. Agatha Roman Catholic church at St. Agatha for the past seven years, died at St. Mary's Hospital last night after a week's illness. He was in his 63rd year.

      Widely known for his saintly character and because of his many appointments, Father Kloepfer entered St. Jerome's College in September, 1896, at the age of 17. He was born in Maryhill, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Kloepfer, on Nov. 28. 1879.

      Graduating from St. Jerome's In June, 1902, Father Kloepfer went to Rome, Italy, where he entered the Gregorian University. He was ordained to the priesthood Rome on April 10, 1909.

      Upon his return to this continent, Father Kloepfer had his appointments at St. Mary's church, Kitchener, St. Mary's College, St. Mary's, Ky. and then was appointed pastor at St. Agatha in April, 1935.

      He is survived by five brothers, Frank of Guelph; Jacob of Bellfeld, N.D.; Joseph of Weston, Ont.: Benedict of Minot, N.D.; and George of Guelph; three sisters, Mrs. D. Drexler of Arris, Ont, Mrs. R. McMillan of Puslinch, Ont., and Mrs. Oscar Liscumbe of London, Ont.

      One brother and one sister predeceased him.

      The remains are resting at the Fedy and Walsh Funeral Home, King Street West, and will be removed to St. Agatha Church tomorrow at 10 a.m. Services will be held at St. Agatha on Thursday at 10 a.m., with interment in the adjoining cemetery.
