Notes |
- Joseph Lauber Brohman was credited with literally saving lives, while his son, who was taken into the confidence of local Indians in West Luther Township, was able to treat humans as well as animals with the same skill and effectiveness. More than anything through, it was probably the Brohman salve which did the most good for both species. It was equally effcient for healing when spread thinly on a cloth and applied, as it was drawing when it was heated, applied thickly to the cloth or gauze and placed on the wound or infected area.
