Notes - Kelley, John Joel - July 24, 1935 - January 17, 2004. Joel passed away with Tiffany and Bruce at his side. Survived by his son Joelly; daughter, Tiffany and his former wife, Marybeth. Predeceased by his parents, Cleta and Peter; 3 sons in infancy; son, Brian in 1997, his loving companion, Verna in 1999; and brothers, Dan, Jim and sister, Delma. Joel had a full and interesting life. He worked at Waterloo Taxi, Orr's Automobile as an Auto Body man and finally for Crawford Insurance Adjusters when he retired. He loved restoring cars, his cottage in Wasaga Beach, later in Collingwood, and quiet times at the trailer in Walton, Ontario with his companion, Verna. Joel liked to travel, seeing Brazil, the Caribbean, and Europe (Ireland was never the same after). Joel showed a shining example of love, strength, humour, quick wit and strong work ethics to his children, Brian and Tiffany. He will be missed by many but especially Tiffany for whom he was a fountain of knowledge and pillar of support. Many thanks to the staff at the Westmount Nursing Home, Doctors Mutrie and Kugler. Cremation has taken place. Joel's family will receive relatives and friends from 4-5 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2004 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener (749-8467) followed by a memorial service in the chapel of the funeral home at 5 p.m. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the KW Humane Society would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
