      The death of Josiah Fries, 64, occurred suddenly early this morning at his residence, 103 Breithaupt St.

      The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Fries, he was born at Wellesley Township, Sept. 22, 1882. He was an employee of the Kitchener Public Utilities for the past 30 years. He attended St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. His marriage to the former Margaret Schafer, who survives, took place at Owen Sound in 1905. Surviving, besides his wife, are two daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Winter, Toronto, and Mrs. Arthur (Dora) Schacht, Kitchener; three brothers, Jacob and Herbert, Kitchener, and Henry, Kindersley, Sask. Two grandchildren also survive.

      The body is resting at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home where the service will be held at two o'clock Friday. Interment will be made in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery; Rev. Dr. John Schmieder will officiate.
