  • Notes
    • No. 116 'Bon Accord'

Another imposing Italianate mansion, built by William Roos of Randall. and Roos, wholesale grocers. The mansion is in a squat 'L' shape, with a front projecting bay, and a larger side wing. There may also have been a rear wing which is not visible in any of the photographs. A wrought iron crested porch ran around two sides of the house. The cornice and bracket work were typically heavy and ornate and there appears to have been decorative key stones above each window and door. The basic structure was of white brick. Sadly, the house was demolished in 1935 to make way for the Church of the Good Shepherd, which is, however, a very nice building. The only remains of the Roos estate are the coach house and the beautiful Victorian wrought iron fencing surrounding the property.. Built circa 1870, demolished 1935.1a
