  MRS.EMERSON MARTIN St. Jacobs Mrs. Emerson Martin died today at her home near St. Jacobs after a brief illness. She was 82. The former Barbara Sauder, she was born Feb. 5, 1888 in Wellesley Township, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Sauder. She was married in 1911 to Emerson Martin who predeceased her in 1961. She and her husband had operated a greenhouse and market garden near St. Jacobs for many years. She was predeceased by an infant son, and another son Edwin in 1965, also by four brothers and a sister. Surviving are five sons, Ivan of RR 1, Whitby, Howard of RR 1, Preston, Sylvester of Linwood, Aden of St. Jacobs, Henry of RR1 1, Waterloo; three daughters, Mrs. Enos (Elizabeth) Gingrich of RR 4, Elmira, Mrs. Norman (Lovina) Brubacher of RR 1, West Montrose, Mrs. Stanley (Ada) Valenta of RR 1, Waterloo; one brother Benjamin and a sister, Elizabeth, both of Elmira; 37 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. The body will be at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira, until Monday evening. A family service will be conducted Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the residence followed by a memorial service at Martin's Mennonite Meeting House, where she had been a member.
