  J. L. Bowman ELMIRA - J. L. Bowman of 17 Centre St., Elmira, died suddenly at the K-W Hospital today. The body is at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor pending funeral arrangements Kitchener-Waterloo Record 12 Jan 1953 __________________ JOSEPH L. BOWMAN Funeral services for Joseph L. Bowman, 56, of 17 Centre St., Elmira, who died Monday at the K-W Hospital, were held Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor. Interment was in the Elmira Cemetery with Rev. H. L. Simpson officiating. The body was at the funeral parlor. Mr. Bowman was born in Woolwich Township, December 12, 1896, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bowman. He served overseas with the 118th Battalion during the First World War and served with the Scots Fusiliers (reserve) for a number of years. He was a member of Gale Presbyterian Church, Elmira, and was also an elder of the church. He was a past master of Glenrose Lodge No. 628 Elmira and was a member of the K-W Granite Club. He is survived by his wife, the former Edith Winn; one daughter, Bethe at home; three sisters, Mrs. Henry Brubacher of near St. Jacobs, Mrs. Levi Horst of Floradale and Mrs. Sydney Lichty, R.R. 3 Kitchener, and one brother George, R.R. 1, Elora.
