• Notes

  Rev. John Elliott was born in Bowcastle, Cumberland, England, October 17 1824, came to Canada with his parents in 1829 and settled in Trafalgar township. He was converted in his 17th years, was licenced as a L. P. C. 5 years later, and preached in that capacity for 17 years. In 1849 he married Mary Jane Mullholland, daughter of the late George M., UEL, Trafalagar. Until 1862 he followed the mercantile pursuits in Port Hope, Peterboro and Lindsay. In 1862 he entered the NCM minister. He was rec'd into full membership with Con in 1866, then served several counties. He died Jan 31 1885 at the pars, Ayr (res of his son, Rev. R. J.
