  Tavistock has lost one of its best known and highly respected residents in the person of John K. Lemp who passed away at his home there on Monday following a two day illness. Mr. Lemp had been in failing health for some time past. He took a sudden turn for the worse on Saturday and sank gradually, death coming on Monday morning. Mr. Lemp who was in his 78th year was a native of Waterloo County. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Sebastopol. Besides his wife he is survived by one son, John Lemp, druggist, of Tavistock, one daughter, Mrs. John Piehl, of Tavistock, a brother, George, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, also survive. The funeral was held from his late residence on Thursday afternoon with a service at the house at 2 o'clock, following which a service was held in the church.
