  SCHAFER, Walter -- At St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, On Saturday, July 28, 1979, as the result of a heart attack, age 79 years, Walter Schafer, of 12 Brock St., Kitchener. A member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church and former treasurer of the Sunday School; credit union manager of Cluett and Peabody Limited; Secretary- treasurer for the past 25 years of the Kitchener-Waterloo Musical Society Band. An active member of the Lawn Bowling League. Son of the late Alex Schafer and Louisa Kraehling. Surviving is his wife, the former Yetta Berlet; two daughters, Mary (Mrs. John Siegner) of Waterloo and Kathryn (Mrs. Jim Wesson) of Owen Sound; one brother, Wilfred of Dunnville and two sisters, Mrs. Hilda Doering and Largetta (Mrs. Vincent Arnold), both of Kitchener; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home, 51 Benton St., Kitchener, until noon on Tuesday, when transfer will be made to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church for funeral service at 2 p.m., Rev.
