- BROWN, John Robertson
Passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 1986, at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital. John Brown of 59 Concession St., in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of the late Glad Halls and dear father of Greig and his wife Ruth of Don Mills, Barbara (Mrs. James Greer) of West Hills, Beverly (Mrs. Denys Jones) of Brantford. Dear brother of Stewart of Cambridge, James of Brighton, and George of Cambridge. Dear brother-in-law of Georgina Halls. Also survived by eight grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. Mr. Brown was predeceased by his parents, John and Elizabeth Brown and four brothers, Archie, Alec, David and Willie and a sister, Ann Weber and a grandson, Greig Jones. Mr. Brown was born in Glasgow Scotland on January 10, 1904 and has been a resident of Cambridge most of his life and was a retired car salesman. A member and elder of St. Andrews (Galt) Presbyterian Church and a past president of the Galt Lions Club and a memeber of Alma Lodge 72, and a chartered member of the Cambridge Shriners and a member of the Senior Mens Coffee Club of the Y.M.C.A. Resting at Coutts and Son Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews Street, where the family will receive friends this evening, from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. Andrews (Galt) Presbyterian Church, on Saturday, December 13, at 1:30 p.m. Interment, Mount View Cemetery.
