  Schafer, John -- At K-W Hospital, on Tuesday, April 3, 1979, following a brief illness, John Schafer, aged 94 years, formerly of 35 Park St. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Louise Dickert on June 6, 1978. dear father of Carl and Stuart, both of Kitchener, Mrs. Irene Slack of Cambridge (G). Also survived by seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. He was the last surviving member of his family; a daughter, Edna (Mrs. James Cushing), in August, 1978, seven brothers and four sisters. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, after 7 p.m. today. Funeral and committal service in the chapel on Thursday at 1 p.m., with Mr. Herbert Katzmier officiating Interment Memory Gardens. The Kitchener-Waterloo Record 4 Apr 1979
