      Walter T. Barrie, 81, Also Auto Firm Chief

      A prominent Kitchener manufacturer, Walter T. Barrie, 95 Chestnut street, died early today at the K-W Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was 81 years of age.

      Mr. Barrie was president of the Barrie Glove and Knitting Co., Ltd., and also president of the Four Wheel Drive Auto Co., Ltd., of Canada. He was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian church and a former member of the board of man-agers of the church. He was born in Galt on June 21, 1859, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Barrie. Mr. Barrie married on May 10, 1893, at Sioux City, Iowa.

      Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Gordon Schatz of Kitchener, and two grandchildren.

      Private funeral service will be held at his residence on Friday at 2 p.m. followed by public service at St. Andrew's church at 2.30 with Rev. E. O. Seymour officiating. Interment will be in Mount View cemetery. Galt. Remains will be at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until Thursday at 6 p.m.
