- Charles K. Schnarr
Charles K. Schnarr, 81, of 105 Metzloff Drive, died Thursday in London, Ont., after a lengthy illness.
Born Jan. 24, 1879, in Erbsville, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hartman Schnarr.
A resident of the Twin City area for many years, he was employed at Baetz Brothers Specialty Company Ltd. for more than 18 years. He retired in 1953.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church.
His first wife, the former Elizabeth Reist, predeceased him in 1915. His second wife, the former Anne Schroeder, died in May, 1955.
Surviving are six sons, Arthur and Earl Rickert and Arnold, Roy, Gordon and Arwood Schnarr, all of Kitchener; four daughters, Mrs. Nelson (Mabel) Paepke, Mrs. Albert (Wilda) Tomlinson and Mrs. Edward (Gloria) Hentges, all of Kitchener, and Mrs. Carl (Verneeda) Gracey of Tillsonburg.
Also two brothers, Henry Schnarr of Waterloo and Herman Schnarr of Windsor; four sisters, Miss Barbara Schnarr, Miss Clara Schnarr and Mrs. Mary Simpson, all of Kitchener and Mrs. Emma Neeb of Buffalo, N.Y.
Twenty-six grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren also survive.
The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel funeral Home where the funeral will be conducted Monday at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Rev. Arthur Eissfeldt, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran church, will officiate.
