Notes |
- Last Saturday, Mr. John Wm. Flath, who had been infirm several years, passed to his reward. He was one of the earliest settlers of Peel Township, in the vicinity of Drayton where he settled over fifty years ago. Four years ago he met with an accident which left him with his mental faculties impaired, so that he has since experienced very little of life's enjoyment. He then removed to Elmira where he has been living a quiet and retired life. Last Wednesday he suffered a paralytic stroke which proved fatal in a few days. He leaves an aged widow and three daughters, viz: Mrs. J. Weitzell of Elmira, and two others, one of which has been living with her parents. Deceased was born in Germany but had emigrated to Canada in early manhood. The funeral was held last Tuesday, Rev. P. Grauaner, of St. Paul's Lutheran Church officiated.
