    • EULER, Joan Elizabeth At her home in Kitchener, on Tuesday, June 3, 2014. Joan died peacefully, surrounded by family, after a brave battle with cancer. She was born on January 6, 1940. Joan was predeceased by her loving husband, John. Proud and loving mother of Dawn Elizabeth and partner Michael Dermentzis of Kitchener, Jane Anne and partner Terri Morrison of Glace Bay, N.S., John William Charles of Kitchener, and Carolyn Patricia and her husband Robert Davies of Burbank, California. Loving Grammy of Lauren Amelia and Jeremy David Davies. She is survived by sisters Marilyn (Jack) Rutherford, Marjorie McGibbon, Brenda (Hartman) Krug, Dianne Sharkey and their families. Sister-in-law of Elizabeth Wall and family. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Hilda and Mansel Mooney, and mother-and father-in-law, Bess and Max Euler. Joan devoted her time and talents to many organizations in the community of Kitchener-Waterloo. Over the past few years Joan has contributed to many groups in the community serving as a director on the boards of THEMUSEUM, Centre in the Square, Opera Ontario, Kitchener Waterloo May Court Club and she was President of the Kitchener Centre Federal Liberal Association. She was President of the Canadian International Council, Waterloo Branch, as well as a member of International Women's Forum; and KW Symphony Orchestra. In 2012, Joan was honoured with The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in recognition of her contributions to Canada. Friends are invited to share their memories of Joan with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, June 6, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Church of St. John the Evangelist (Anglican), 23 Water St. North, Kitchener, on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 10 a.m. A Celebration of Joan's Life will be held at THEMUSEUM, 10 King St. West, Kitchener, on Saturday, June 7, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. Condolences for the family and donations to the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre, THEMUSEUM or the Church of St. John the Evangelist, may be arranged through the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445. Joan's family wishes to thank Dr. Hubay and the oncology nursing team at the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre; as well as Dr. Keleher and the palliative care team from Hospice Waterloo Region.
