- MRS. WM. FLATH.
Another of the aged residents of Elmira passed away on Saturday in the person of Catharine Euler, widow of the late William Flath. Deceased was born in Hessen Darnstadt, Germany, in 1826, and emigrated to Canada in 1854. Two years later she was married to William Flath, and comes a farm near Drayton in the soil hardships of pioneer life, after living there about 50 years the aged couple came to Elmira, where Mr. Flath died about seven years ago. To Mr. and Mrs. Flath were born four daughters, namely; Elizabeth, (Mrs. Walker), who died about 9 years ago; Nancy, at home, Kate (Mrs. Kennedy), of Berlin; Matilda (Mrs. John Weitzel), Elmira. Twelve grandchildren also survive Mrs. Flath was ill about two months, of rheumatism accompanied by the weakness of old age. She was a kind mother to her daughters and friendly to all with whom she came in contact. The funeral was held on Monday afternoon. Among those from a distance who attended were: Mr. and Mrs. Adam Flath, Mr. and Mrs. George Moore, Miss Flath, Mr. Chas. Walker, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Walker, Mr. and Mrs. George Fotheringham, Mrs. Montogomery and Mrs. Hussey, all of Drayton; Mr. and Mrs. John Kennedy and daughters Florence and Althea, Mrs. Doubledee, all of Berlin
