Following an operation some four weeks ago, the death occurred in Galt Hospital on Monday of William Manson, age 77 years. He was born on the farm now owned by Kenneth McKenzie, 10th concession of Blenheim, being the eldest son of Adam Manson and Mary Guthrie, natives of Scotland. He was married March 18, 1885, to Elizabeth Gourlay, second daughter of Andrew and Jane Gourlay. Rev. Dr. John Thomson, minister of Knox Church, Ayr, was the officiating clergyman. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on March 18, 1935. After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Manson lived on the 7th concession of Blenheim for one year. They then moved to the farm now owned by Erie Sharp, where they resided for 32 years, retiring to Ayr 21 years ago. He was the first mail carrier on R.R. 3, Ayr, and for the past 10 years he was courier on RR 1. He was manager of the Ayr Rural Company for 29 years. He was also a member of Ayr Council for a three year term. In all, Mr. Manson had truly led an active and useful life, in which he gave freely of his time and talents to the community. Besides his widow, he is survived by four daughters: Mrs. David Hall, Blenheim Twp.; Mrs. S. D. Rendall, Toronto; Mrs. E. F. Cuthbertson, Oshawa, and Mrs. R. B.
