    • Died, In North Dumfries, on Thursday, June 22nd, 1905, at 7.30 a.m., Jeannie D. Edgar, Beloved wife of Robert Morton, in her 36th year. The Funeral Will take place from her father's residence, lot 38 con. 7, North Dumfries, on Saturday, June 24th, at 2.30 p.m., to the Ayr Cemetery. Friends and acquaintances please accept this intimation.

      Death of Mrs. Robert Morton       - The entire community was very much depressed last Thursday by the announcement of the death of Mrs. Robert Morton, who succumbed to pernicious anemia after an illness, of about 4 months, during most of which time she was under the parental roof and had good medical attendance and the care of a loving mother and sister. As each week or month passed by, the great hope prevailed that her former good health would carry her through. During all those weeks she was never heard to complain, but was cheerful and always pleased to see her many friends. The deceased whose maiden name was Jeannie D. Edgar, was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm Edgar, North Dumfries. Six years ago last November she became the wife of Mr. Robert Morton, and was happily domiciled in a pleasant home on the out skirts of the village. Respected and loved by a wide circle of relatives and friends, her death in the prime of womanhood, aged scarcely, 36 years, was a severe shock to all. The funeral took place from her father's residence on Saturday afternoon and was very largely attended, about 125 vehicles being in the long procession as the cortege wended its way to the beautiful Ayr cemetery, only a short distance from the home now left disconsolate. The services were conducted by her pastor, Rev John Thomson, assisted by Rev. Messrs. Nixon and Grant, and were more than usually impressive. A wealth of beautiful floral tributes attested, to some extent at least the love of those whose sorrow is practically inexpressible. Besides her sorrowing husband, father and mother she leaves an only sister and two brothers - Allan in South Dumfries and William at home. The News joins a host of friends in extending sympathy to the sorely bereaved relatives.
