  Death of Henry Elliott Was Employee of Goldie Milling Co, For 35 Years There was a large gathering of friends and neighbors at the funeral of the late Henry Elliott, Water Street, on Saturday afternoon, with interment being made in the Ayr Cemetery. The services were in charge of Rev. J. W. Currie, pastor of Knox United Church, and included the singing of two favorite hymns of the deceased, "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and "What a Friend We have in Jesus." with Miss Miller at the organ. The pallbearers were: J. W. Currie, O. T. Scott, A. G. Watson, A. G. Laurie, Andrew Hall and J. A. Gillespie, A number of beautiful floral to sites bore silent testimony to the high esteem in which deceased was held. Master Johnny Schmidt carried a beautiful wreath from the casket to the hearse, and the balance of the flowers were sent to the different churches of the village. The late Mr. Mott, who passed away early Thursday morning after a lengthy illness, was in his 76th Year. He was born near Reidsville in 1857 and in 1879 was united in marriage with Mary A. Carroll, who survives him. For a period of nearly half a century they resided at Greenfield, on the property now occupied by Mr. and Mrs. George A. Guthrie, Mr. Elliott being a valued employee of the Goldie Milling Company for some 35 years. They came to Ayr nine years ago, taking up residence on the McKnight property on Water Street.
