Mrs. E. C. Krantz Passes - One of Ayr's better known personalities, and a businesswoman of recognized ability, Mrs. Elton C. Krantz passed away in K-W Hospital on Sunday in her 83rd year, following a lengthy illness. She was identified with the Krantz store for many years before disposing of the business to Jack Laird several months ago. Mrs. Krantz was a leading figure in the village's social life, taking an active part in several women's organizations and the Ayr Bowling Club. She was a valued member of Knox United Church. The former Edna Priscilla Gunn, she was born on the Greenfield Road, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Gunn. She was a resident of this community all her life. Surviving, besides her husband, now in Aurora, are three sisters, Mrs. Fred Mitchell (Bertha) and Mrs. Roland Maeder (Christina) of Ayr and Miss Bessie Gunn of Preston; three brothers, Charles of Ayr, Norman of Windsor and Stanley of Preston. - The Funeral - Funeral service was conducted by Rev. W. J. V. Buchanan at Knox United Church on Tuesday, with interment in Ayr Cemetery.
