    • William W. Clark

      A venerated resident of Galt and district all his life, William W. Clark, passed away on Wednesday evening at 7 o'clock at his residence, 30 Crombie Street. Deceased was in his 86th year. The late Mr. Clark was born at Wrigley's Corners, near Ayr. He attended the Wrigley's Corners school and followed the occupation of farming in that neighborhood until 1910 when he retired to Galt. In 1883 he married Isabella Schofield of Doon, who predeceased him seven years ago. Deceased was a member of Wesley United Church. There are surviving: Two daughters, Mrs. W. E. Near of Preston and Mrs. A. M. Sheppard of Hamilton, Mass.; two sons, James S. of Toronto and William J. at home; and one brother, James of Collingwood. Two grandchildren also survive. The funeral took place on Friday afternoon to the Ayr Cemetery and was largely attended by many old friends and neighbors. The service was in charge of Rev. H. L. Roberts, pastor of Wesley United Church, Galt.
