    • In Loving Memory Died In Ayr, on Wednesday, September 25th, 1918, at 11 o'clock a.m. Alexander E. Scott Aged 59 years. The Funeral Will take place from his late residence, Lot 27, Con. 9, North Dumfries, on Saturday, Sept. 28th, at 2.30 p.m., to Ayr Cemetery. Friends and acquaintances will please accept this intimation.

      Death of A. E. Scott

      Another old resident has passed away in the person of Mr. Alexander E. Scott, who succumbed on Wednesday, Sept. 25, after a lingering illness from heart failure, aged 59 years. Mr. Scott was well and favorably known throughout a wide section of country, having been a resident of North Dumfries all his life. Of an unassuming disposition, he took little native interest in public affairs, devoting himself to the interests of his family and his farm. In him the social instinct was strong, and his home was the rendezvous of many congenial spirits. In politics he was a Reformer and in religion he was Presbyterian being a member of Knox United Church. He married Catherine Henderson, who proved a faithful wife, a loving mother and a true helpmate until her death about two years ago. A large family survives. They are: Mrs. J. H. Buckholder, Ayr; Mrs. Rowat, Calgary; Walter, James and Mrs. Norman Gray, Greenfield; Albert and Evelyn at home. The funeral on Saturday was largely attended, interment being made in the Ayr cemetery. The services were conducted by deceased's pastor, Rev. J. J. Brown.
