Notes |
- Lydia Martin, "the sixth daughter of Peter and Anna (Zimmerman) Martin, was born August 2nd, 1810, and came to Canada in 1819. On September 23rd, 1828, she was married to Bishop Henry Shantz. He was born in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, November 3rd, 1804, and died October 4th, 1877. Since the decease of her husband she has her home with her daughter, Rececca (Mrs. Martin Baumann). She is quite well and seems to enjoy life, but of late, through a mild stroke of paralysis, she lost the use of her lower limbs.":
Eby, Ezra E. (1895). A biographical history of Waterloo township and other townships of the county: being a history of the early settlers and their descendants, mostly all of Pennsylvania Dutch origin: as also much other unpublished historical information chiefly of a local character.
