- Thomas Anderson Marshall of Galt passed away in the Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Saturday, January 8, 1983. He was 91. Mr. Marshall was born on August 15, 1891 on Lot 35, Concession 9, North Dumfries Township; a son of the late Cameron Marshall and Isabella Deans. He was a member of Knox United Church, Ayr and served as an elder from 1945 to 1966. He married Ethel McLeish in 1930 and they farmed near Fergus for one and a half years. The couple then bought a farm on Lot 38, Concession 11, North Dumfries Township (now owned by Don Carey) and farmed there until 1953 when they retired to Hall Street in Ayr. In 1976 they moved to Galt. He is survived by his wife, the former Ethel McLeish, one son Cameron and daughter-in-law Helen, grand-son Michael and grand-daughter Susan, all of Cambridge; also one brother Gordon Marshall of Ayr. Also several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two sisters, Mrs. Leslie (Euphemia) McDonald and Mrs. Rufus (Bernie) Davidson. Funeral service was held on Monday, January 10, 1983 from the Little and Son Funeral Home, Galt with Rev. George Saunders of Knox United Church, Ayr officiating. Interment in the Ayr Cemetery.
