  Sudden Passing of Mrs. Rufus Davidson The community was shocked on Monday to learn of the sudden death in Galt Hospital of Mrs. Rufus Davidson, aged 52 years, a well-known and respected resident of Blenheim township. Mrs. Davidson had been seriously ill for only about a week, and was removed to hospital on Monday, where she passed away a few hours later. The former Bessie Marshall, she was born on the Marshall homestead, north of Ayr, now occupied by her brother, Gordon Marshall. She was a daughter of the later Cameron Marshall, North Dumfries township, and Mrs. Marshall, nee Mary Isabel Deans, who now resides in this village. She was married to Rufus Davidson over 24 years ago and since that time had lived in Blenheim township. The late Mrs. Davidson was a valued member of Knox United Church and took an active interest in the affairs of the congregation. She was a member of the King's Daughters' Auxiliary and also other prominent church organizations. Surviving, besides her husband and mother, are two sons: Richard and Cameron, and a daughter, Mary, all at home. Two brothers and a sister also survive, as follows: Anderson and Gordon Marshall, North Dumfries, and Mrs. Leslie McDonald, Blenheim. The Ayr News Jul 8 1948 pg 9
