      ROSEVILLE March 13 The oldest resident of the community and a lifelong resident of Waterloo county. Mrs. Matthew Chapman, 88. died yesterday afternoon at her home west of the village following a lingering illness Mrs. Chapman, the former Nancy Lederman was born in Wilmot township May 10. 1852 After her marriage she resided in the Rosebank district and subsequently moved to this community. Mrs. Chapman lived at her late residence for more than 40 years.

      Surviving are Ave sons. Ervin of Petoskey. Mich., Edgar of Darryton. Mich, Herbert of Stratford, Albert of Pine Hill and Oliver at home. four daughters. Mrs. Edward Warren of Flint, Mich. Melinda, Mabel and Lucinda at home and Irene of New Dundee. 19 grandchildren and 16 great -grandchildren. Her husband predeceased her five years ago.

      The funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. from her residence to Roseville Evangelical church for service. Interment will be in Roseville cemetery. Rev. N. E. Dahms will officiate. Remains will rest at the E. A. Poth Funeral Home. New Dundee until Friday when they will be removed to her home.
