- Thomas T. Lake Passes - Thomas T. Lake, a well-known and lifelong resident of the North Dumfries district, passed away on Thursday at the residence of his son, Stuart Lake, Cedar Creek road, in his 94th year. He had been ill for about nine weeks. In the year 1880 he left for the West and spent seven years in the city of Winnipeg. While there he acted as a member of the fire brigade when it was organized on a full-time basis. He was born on the East River road. The last of his generation, Mr. Lake was a member of Knox's Presbyterian Church, Galt. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Norman Wallace, Glenmorris, and two sons, Stuart of R.R. 2, Ayr, and Howard of London. There are seven grandchildren and. three great-grandchildren. The funeral was to have been held on Saturday but, owing to the inclement weather, was postponed until Monday. The funeral service was held on Monday afternoon at the T. Little and Son Funeral Home, Galt. Rev. W. J. Walker of Knox's Presbyterian Church, Galt, officiated. Interment was made in the Mount View Cemetery. The pallbearers were Martin Cochran, Charlton L. Cowan, Irving Wil Road, Robert Lake, London and John son, Wallace Lake, all of Cedar Creek Wallace, Glenmorris.

Thomas Lake

AYR, Nov. 24. - Thomas T. Lake, who farmed in North Dumfries Township for most of his life, died yesterday at the home of his son, Stuart Lake, R.R. 2, Ayr, after an illness of nine weeks. He was 93.
Mr. Lake was born on the East River Rd. in North Dumfries Township near Galt. When he was a young man he moved to Winnipeg, where he lived for about 10 years before returning to North Dumfries. In Winnipeg he was a member of the volunteer fire department, and when the department was put on a paid basis he was the first member to be sworn in. He was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church in Galt.
His wife, the former Nancy McDonald, died in 1929. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Norman Wallace, Glen Morris, two sons, Howard and Stuart, seven grand- children and three great-grand- children.
The funeral will be held at the T. Little and Son Funeral Home in Galt tomorrow at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Mt. View Cemetery.
