  Mrs. Violet Leithead Passes Mrs. Violet Leithead of Broadway Manor, Paris, formerly of Stanley Street, Ayr, passed away on Monday, July 9th. She was in her 88th year. Born in North Dumfries Township, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Gress. She was predeceased by her husband William Leithead several years ago. For many years the couple had farmed east of Ayr until retiring to Ayr 25 years ago. Mrs. Leithead had been a resident of Broadway Manor since October, 1970. She was a member of Paris Presbyterian Church. Surviving are two sisters, Miss Elizabeth Gress and Mrs. Helena Peeler, both of RR 1, Ayr; a brother Milton Gress of Preston; also three nieces and two nephews. Funeral service will be held today (Wed.) at 3: 30 p.m. from the Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, Paris. Interment in Ayr Cemetery. The Ayr News Jul 12 1973 pg 8
