    1. [S31] News - ON, Waterloo, Cambridge - Dumfries Reformer (1850-1892), 8 Jul 1868.
      Brown, Jacob died 6 Jul 1868 Drowned in Hespeler, while bathing in the Speed River; aged 18. Son of August Brown, shoemaker, Branchton. He had been employed in one of the woollen factories in Hespeler for about a week. A non-swimmer, he drowned about two yards from shore.
