• Notes

  The death occurred yesterday of John Blain of Branchton in his 63rd year after a lengthy illness. Mr. Blain had been a resident of Branchton for over 30 years and had been a thresherman since his youthful days. He was born in Galt, being a son of the late John Blain whose wife was Isabella Helm. Besides his widow three daughters are left to mourn their loss: Mrs. Peter Kidd and Mrs. Andrew Kidd of Galt and Miss Jean at home. There are also three sisters, Mrs. Albert Main of Sheffield, Mrs. George Ricker of Branchton and Mrs. Mary Coley of Buffalo and one brother George Blain of Lynden. Deceased, although not taking any active part in public life, was well and favorably known throughout North Dumfries Township and the St. George district where he was highly respected. The funeral will take place from his late residence at Branchton on Wednesday at 2.30 to Mount View Cemetery, Galt. Galt Evening Reporter, April 29, 1924, pg. 3 col 2
