    Killed in tornado 
    • The Regina Cyclone, or Regina tornado of 1912, was a tornado that devastated the city of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, on Sunday, June 30, 1912. It remains the deadliest tornado in Canadian history with a total of 28 fatalities and about 300 people injured. At about 4:50 p.m., green funnel clouds formed and touched down south of the city, tearing through the residential area between Wascana Lake and Victoria Avenue, and continuing through the downtown business district, rail yards, warehouse district, and northern residential area.

    • Died In Regina, on Sunday, June 30th, 1912 James Melvin Scott In his 28th year The Funeral Will take place from the residence of his father, James Scott, Cedar Creek Road, on Tuesday morning, July 9th, 1912, at 10.30 o'clock. Interment will take place in Mount View Cemetery Friends and acquaintances will please accept this intimation.

      GALT MAN A REGINA VICTIM
      James Scott, the Customs Clerk In Among Those Killed In Disaster

      Galt, July 3. Galt is to-day included in the many places which have lost former residences in the terrible calamity which befell Regina on Sunday night last that are in mourning. James Scott, customs clerk, killed in the Donoghue Block, is in the list of those dead. Deceased is the fourth son of Mr. and Mrs. James Scott, Cedar Creek road. A telegram addresses to the mayor was received asking that the father of James Melvin Scott be notified that he had been killed. The telegram was sent by a room-mate of the deceased young man. The late Mr. Scott is well known in Galt. He was a graduate of the Galt Collegiate Institute and the Toronto University, and had been out West about seven years. He was very successful at school having passed all his examinations On going out West, Mr. Scott was employed in the real estate business for two years. then secured a position in the customs office, and had passed his examinations and became a member of the permand [sic] became a member of the permaman [sic], and the sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved parents, three brothers and three sisters.

      Geo. Scott, a brother of the deceased, left this morning for Regina to bring the remains home for burial. There are a number of Galtonians [sic] in Regina, and a great many telegrams have been received by relatives here announcing their safety.
