- BOWMAN, JOSEPH
At his home at 82 Lowell St. in Hespeler, on Tuesday evening at 9, August 10, 1915, in his 74th year. The funeral took place on Thurs, Aug. 12th at 2 from his residence to the Hespeler Cemetery. Surviving are his widow and children: Mrs. W. Black of Hespeler; Mrs. H. Fetter of Toronto; Mrs. Ed Cutting of Hespeler; Mrs. H. Cutting of Hamilton; Mrs. H. Leach of Guelph; Mrs. H. Black of Guelph; Mrs. G. MacDonald of Rochester; Mrs. J. Jones of Guelph; J. Bowman of Berlin; W. Bowman of Hespeler; A. Bowman of Galt; and E. Bowman of Hespeler. The pallbearers were his four sons, John, William, Albert and Irwin; Wellington Cutting and Frank McConnel. Mr. Bowman had been a resident of the city only since last spring, when he came here from his farm near Freelton.

Woolsey: Joseph Bauman, 1784-1856, shoemaker, of Herbolzheim, Breisgau, Baden and his wife, Josepha "Sepha" Wegmann-Spitz, born 1797, landed in Pennsylvania in 1818, serving for three years as indentured servants to David Lightfoot. They made their way to Waterloo Twp. by 1826, settling on lot 13, concession 1 in Beasley's Lower Block (Fisher Mills). In 1830 they settled on lot 33, front concession 8, Puslinch Twp.
Children of Joseph Bauman, 1784-1856 were: Joseph, 1818-1877, married Fanny Steffler; Susanna, b. 1820, married John Schmidt; Elizabeth, 1821-1891, married Aegidius Ochs; Maria Anna, 1823-1847, married Jacob Druar; Margaret, 1826-1906, married Joseph Steffler; Johanna, 1828-1915, married Aloys Ochs; Sarah, b. 1830; Barbara, 1831-1915, married Nicholas Schantz; and John, 1833-1915.
Children of Joseph Bauman, 1818-1877 were: Joseph, 1842-1915; Colenia, b. 1843; Catharine, b. 1845; Elizabeth, 1846-1936, married Joseph Stremble; Jacob, 1848-1897; Christian, b. 1851; Sarah, 1852-1873, first wife of John Munch; Anthony, b. 1853; John, b. 1856; Catharine, 1857-1914, second wife of John Munch; Anthony, 1858-1954, b. 1860.

Funeral of Joseph Bowman.
The funeral of the late Joseph Bowman, whose death occurred on Tuesday evening last, took place Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from his late residence to the Hespeler cemetery where interment was made. Besides a widow, the following sons and daughters are left to mourn his loss: Mrs. W. Black of Hespeler, Mrs. H. Fector of Toronto, Mrs. E. Cutting of Hespeler, Mrs. H. Cutting of Hamilton, Mrs. H. Leach of Guelph, Mrs. H. Block of Guelph, Mrs. G. Mcdonald of Rochester, Mrs. J. Jones of Guelph, Mr. J. Bowman of Berlin, Mr. W. Bowman of Hespeler, Mr. A. Bowman of Galt, and Mr. E. Bowman of Hespeler. The pall bearers were four sons, John William, Albert and Irwin and Mr. Wellington Cutting and Frank McConnel.
