  David A. Reid Passes One of Ayr's oldest and best known citizens, David Arthur Reid, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home on Tuesday afternoon, He was in his 80th year. An active man, Mr. Reid had worked up until several months ago, and was seen almost daily on the streets of the village. He was a lifelong resident of Ayr, a son of the late Alexander Reid and Margaret Brown whose family. ties in this community reached back to pioneer days. For most of his lifetime Mr. Reid was employed with the bridge and building division of the C.P.R. and following his retirement he worked with the John Watson Mfg. Company here for a number of years. In early life he was a keen sportsman and a valued member of the Ayr Curling Club. His interest continued in later years and he was a familiar figure at hockey and soft-ball games here. Mr. Reid's social life had always been directed mainly toward the welfare of Ayr's two fraternal organizations. He was a past master of both the Ayr Masonic Lodge and Dolman Lodge, I.O.O.F Among his most valued possessions were medals indicating 50 years of membership In both lodges which he received several years ago. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Greer (Ethel) of Ayr and Mrs. Fred Poll (Ella) of Ashburn, Ontario.
