Death of David Hostetler
Another of the old residents of this neighbourhood passed away in the person of Mr. David Hostetler, whose death occurred quite suddenly early on Monday morning at the home of his nephew, Mr. Harry Hostetler. The late Mr. Hostetler was the eldest son of the late Moses Hostetler and was born on the old homestead, now owned by Mr. John Ritz, on the 29th of April, 1843. For many years he occupied the farm which he sold to Mr. Chr. E. Gingerich about eighteen years ago, since which time he lived retired. His wife predeceased him about 25 years ago and one son Wesley also predeceased him. He leaves two sons, Lafayette, of New Hamburg, and Frank, of Newcastle, Pa., also three brothers, Levi, of New Hamburg, Henry, of Wellesley, and Daniel, of Kitchener. The funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon to Hostetler's Church and Cemetery and was attended by a large circle of relatives and friends.
