  FISCHER, Robert Sr. - Passed away, suddenly, on Thursday, November 9, 2006 at Stratford General Hospital. Robert resided in Baden. He was born 67 years ago in Formosa and was the son of the late Michael and Ludwina (Kunkel) Fischer. Beloved husband of Helen (Collison) Fischer whom he married October 11, 1958. Dear father of Sherry and husband Bernie Rolleman Of Shakespeare, Shelly and husband Rob Gingerich of Tavistock. Loving Papa to Lesley and Rob Illman, Wesley Morrison, Jessica Morrison and Jason Pletsch, Danny Gingerich and Megan Riley, Kristopher and Jessica Gingerich, Kaytlin Gingerich and Big Papa to Hailey, Hayden, Riley, Jaime and Logan. Also remembered by his sisters, Anna O'Malley and John Grein of Mildmay, Dorothy Lindsay of Calgary, AB, Beat and Roy Eggert of Stavely, AB, Bernice Straicher, Alice McTavish, both of Waterloo; sister-in-law, Myrtle Fischer of Formosa. Robert was predeceased by a son, Robert Jr.; son-in-law, Murray Morrison; sisters, Rose and husband Tony Strauss, Helen and Madeline both in infancy; brother, Michael Fischer Jr.; brothers-in-law, T.P. O'Malley, Bob Lindsay, Bill Heidmiller, Steve Straicher and Alan McTavish. Robert was a member of Holy Family RC Church, New Hamburg, the Wilmot Rod and Gun Club and the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters. Robert was an avid fisher, hunter, wood worker and enjoyed watching sports. Robert and Helen owned and operated the Maple Leaf Hotel in Baden for a number of years. Family and friends called at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg on Tuesday, November 14, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at 10: 15 a.m. followed by the funeral mass at 11 a.m. at Holy Family RC Church with Father Pablito Labado officiating. Cremation to follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
