  • Notes 
    • D. Kropf, son of Christian and Mary Kropf, was born in Waterloo County, Ontario, July 5, 1843. He now lives ten miles northeast of Lancaster. He was married to Leah Aeschliman, October 12, 1871. They have four children, Emeli, William, Eldina and Marie. Mr. Kropf was born and reared in Canada. He secured his education in the German schools there and lived with his parents in a German settlement until twenty years of age when he departed for Ohio. He remained in Ohio four years and then moved to Iowa, remaining four years. In 1871 he came to Schuyler County, where he has been farming since that time. He owns a farm of a hundred and thirty acres, all but twenty of which is under cultivation. Mr. Kropf is a successful breeder of Norman, Coach and Hamiltonian horses. He is a Republican in politics.
