      The death of Laura Wilhelmina Smith, wife of J. L. Witzel, occurred Sunday afternoon at 4.50 o'clock at her home on Whitney Place after a lingering illness. Deceased leaves to mourn her death her husband and one daughter, Elvera, who is six years of age, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hv. Smith, of Mannheim, one sister, Mrs. Eph. Hillgartner, of this city, and three brothers, Mr. Henry D. Smith, New Dundee, Mr. John Smith at home, and Mr. Edward Smith of Stratford. The funeral will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 1.30 o'clock from the family residence, 16 Whitney Place, thence to the First English Lutheran Church. Burial will take place at the Mannheim cemetery.
