  Allan Battler - By Record Correspondent - Baden, Oct. 23 - Allan Battler, 72, of Baden died Saturday at St. Mary's Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Wilmot Township, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Battler, he farmed near Victoriaburg for many years. He served as a member of the Wilmot Centre Public School Board for many years and was formerly weed and herd inspector for Wilmot Township. His wife, the former Louise Schenk, died in May, 1941. Surviving are two sons, Roy Battler of Wellesley, and Ralph of Victoriaburg; three daughters, Miss Dorothy Battler, Baden and Mrs. Gerald (Verdella) Flood and Mrs. Harlon (Reta) Oberer, both of Kitchener; two brothers, Ervin Battler, Williamsburg, and Wesley Battler, Kitchener; and two sisters, Mrs. Lydia Clemens, Petoskey, Mich., and Mrs. Etta Sherk of Bright. Five grandchildren also survive. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2:30 pm from his residence in Baden, with Rev. G.T.H. Wuerscher of Phillipsburg officiating.
