  AIKMAN, ROBERT PEEL was born in 1841 in Ancaster, the son of Col. John Aikman. He received his M.D. from the University of Victoria College in 1868. He practised in Wellington Square, and later in Collingwood. The following card appeared in the Galt Reporter of June 5, 1868: R.P. Aikman - Physician, Surgeon, accoucheur, etc., Cornell's Hotel, Preston.June 4, 1868. As no further mention has been found, it is improbable that he practised here.
