- KNAUFF, Merle Irene (nee Krueger)
Of Heritage House Home, in St, Jacobs, after a full life, left this world peacefully, on Friday, June 9, 2000. Merle was born in Hespeler, on August 3rd, 1914, daughter of the late Orn and Maude (Hagey) Krueger. Loving wife of the late Rev. Karl J. Knauff, who predeceased her in June 1996. Merle was a loyal support to her husband's ministry, with The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada, serving Heidelberg, Stratford, Kitchener and Hanover. They retired in St. Jacobs. She was a teacher at Pine Grove School in Centreville, for ten years. Left to mourn are cousins, Leonard Hagey and Harry Hagey of Cambridge (Preston) and Jack Krueger and Jim Krueger of Cambridge (Hespeler). Mrs. Knauff's family will receive friends at the EDWARD R. GOOD FUNERAL HOME, 171 King Street South, in Waterloo, from 7-9 p.m., Monday. The funeral service will be held at St. James Lutheran Church, in St. Jacobs, on Tuesday, June 13th, 2000, at 1: 30 p.m., with Rev. David Hammer officiating. Immediately following service, a reception will be held at the church, followed by interment, at Mount Hope Cemetery, in Waterloo.
