  • Notes
    • In 1826 the family settled in a part Dumfries twp known as "Wrigleys Corners", having been in NY state for a few years previous (1819-1826). The farm at Wrigley's Corners passed first to his son Sylvanus and then to his grandson Joseph until it was sold to a Russell Bannister in 1921. "In 1834 a tiny log school was built near the Seventh Con Rd, but it is said formal schooling was carried on in the home of the first Joseph Wrigley even before that." (From: Our Yesterdays) In 1854 this log school burned, and was replaced by a red brick building that was constructed on a half-acre plot of land purchased from the Wrigley family. It survived for one hundred years. This was U.S.S. No. 16 at Wrigley's Corners.
In the 1840's Joseph & Ann moved to Michigan state with son George and daughter Sarah, and their families. Joseph died in 1854 (12 July) and the age on his tombstone is 75 years, 11 months. He and Ann are buried in Alton, Vergennes Co., Michigan. Ann died in 1864 (31 Aug) an the age on her tombstone reads 78 years, 6 months, 9 days
