- Walter Underwood - Funeral service for Walter Underwood., 85, of 27 Stirling Ave. N. who died Saturday at his home, will be conducted by Dr. Henry W. Opperman at 2 pm, Tuesday at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran cemetery. Born in Waterloo Township, be was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Underwood and had lived in the Twin City area his entire life. Before his retirement in 1953, Mr. Underwood had been employed by the Kitchener Public Utilities Commission for 43 years and was a conductor and motorman on the street railway for 36 of those years. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Mr. Underwood was predeceased by his first wife, the former Renata Ludwig, in 1959. He is survived by his second wife, the former Mary Betz whom he married in Kitchener in 1961; one son, Clayton of Kitchener; three sisters, Mrs. Patrick (Selina) Tye and Mrs. Matilida Hagen, both of Kitchener, and Mrs. Hans (Sarah) Tinder of Waterloo; two granddaughters, and six great-grandchildren.
