- Coaldale Old Timer Passes
COALDALE. (HNS) A well-known and greatly esteemed figure of the Coaldale and Ready- Made districts passed away on Tuesday afternoon, September 2, in the person of William Frederick Wahl, husband of Mrs. Lucinda Wahl.
Resigning his position at the local co-operative stores only about three months ago after eighteen. years of employment with the Southern Alberta Co-op Mr. Wahl, accompanied by his wife, left for the Pacific coast about the middle, of June in search of better health, but to no avail.
He consulted specialists at Vancouver but Mr. Wahl returned to: Coaldale about a month ago and had spent the last three weeks in the local hospital
The late Wm Wahl was born on January 1st, 1876, at Petersburg. Ontario, and came to live in the in Ready Made district in 1909, where for many years operated a farm, also serving for a number of terms on the Ready Made school board. |
Moving into Coaldale in 1927, deceased carriea on his public life a by becoming a member of the local school board and also of the village council. His passing removed one of the old timers of the District and he will be greatly missed by a large number of friends
A sister of Mrs Wahl, Mrs. WH Keyle of Elmira, Ontario, and a niece, Mrs. W. J Lewis and Mr Lewis of Stratford. Ont. who last month wete on a visit to the west Loast and Alberta points, are ai present with Mrs Wahl.
Deceased leaves one brother," Adam, of Kitchener, Ont, to mourn hls loss, another brother and one sister having passed away earlier this rear
