  Many Present at H. P. Ober Rites Many Iriends and relatives gathered at Southminster Unlled Church Saturday afternoon to pay final tribute to Harlous Peppler Ober, 76, of 2010 5th Ave. S.. a retired farmer and a long-lime resident of Coaldale, who died in the city last Tuesday. Rev. Nelson Mercer officiated at the service. Pallbearers were Frid King, A. Jamieson, Carl McCann. Frank Knapp, W. S. Giffen and Harry Hicks. Interment was in Mountain View Cemetery. with Martin Bros. In charge of funeral arrangements. Lethbridge Herald 29 Mar 1954 pg 9 ______________ H. P. Ober Passes at 76 The death of Harlous Peppler Ober, 16, of 2019 5th Ave. S., a long time resident of Southern Alberta, occurred in the city Tuesday after a lengthy illness, Mr. Ober was a retired farmer. Born in Ontario, and employed with the Grand Trunk Railway In Ontario from 1896 until 1909, he moved to Coaldale In 1909 where he farmed unlll his retirement in 1941. Upon retirement, he moved lo Vancouver, but returned to Lethbridge in Janary of this year. He was a member of the United Church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Margaret Ober, three sons In Coaldale and one in Chilliwack, B.C.; 15 grandchlidren and one great grand child.
