  partial obituary Mrs. Catharine Bechtel, widow of George Bechtel, died at the home of her son, Mervin Bechtel, Sunday afternoon at the age of 86 years. Mrs. Bechtel was born on the old Bock homestead, one mile west of the village, July 1, 1856, a d/o the late Mr. and Mrs. Levi Bock. She spent her entire life in this district and since the death of her husband in 1920 had resided with her son in New Dundee. Surviving are two sons, Gilbert of Seaforth and Mervin of New Dundee; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Barbara Buck of New Hamburg. .
